International seminar: Preventing dropout in vocational education and training (VET): new indicators and strategies

This seminar aims to present and discuss the most recent research findings from Europe regarding teaching styles and successful educational practices for preventing dropout rates in the field of vocational education and training.
Teaching styles and educational practices are key elements for improving students' academic outcomes and preventing dropout rates. Identifying teaching styles and practices associated with academic success and reduced dropout rates in vocational education provides a scientific basis for enhancing teacher training and developing quality approaches within educational institutions.
Objectives:
- Transfer and spread current research findings in this branch of knowledge.
- Present the results of the Spanish national project on "Teaching practice and prevention of early dropout in vocational education and training: empirical approach and intervention proposal (PDYPAFP)" funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the State Research Agency (PID2019-108342RB-100).
- Bridge the gap between academic research conducted at the European level and educational practice, promoting mutual exchange.
- Create shared spaces for the joint implementation of strategies to prevent dropout in vocational education.
- Facilitate synergies among vocational education professionals, creating networks of exchange among individuals, entities, and institutions (schools, universities, public administration, etc.) at the local, national, and international levels.

Expected outcomes:
- Acquire new knowledge about teaching styles and teaching practices, as well as their relationship with academic outcomes and dropout prevention in vocational education.
- Identify the featires of successful practices in vocational education based on scientific evidence derived from national and European studies on teaching styles, teaching practices, and their impact on educational outcomes.
- Promote the widespread adoption of successful educational practices to reduce dropout rates in vocational education training.
- Learn about the latest research findings and interactive tools from Cedefop.

This registration is only for people who cannot attend in person, a certificate of attendance will be given but it does not have the recognition of hours of permanent teacher training at the Department of Education and Universities of the Balearic Islands. Includes all sessions of the program except the parallel workshops on April 23.
